Effective Cleaning Method
For optimal results, we recommend following this proven cleaning method:- Begin by using a well-designed bore guide to ensure precision.
- Having a solvent port can significantly simplify the process. It allows you to easily administer ThorroClean.
- Step 1: Start by pushing a wet tight patch through your bore to remove loose carbon fouling.
- Step 2: Liberally apply ThorroClean (about a teaspoonful) to a high-quality bore brush. Stroke the barrel forward out through the crown and back approximately 10 to 15 times. Ensure your brush has enough ThorroClean for effective cleaning.
- Step 3: Follow up by pushing a dry patch through the barrel, and then use patches generously soaked in ThorroFlush. Typically, you can clean all the ThorroClean out of the barrel with 2 or 3 patches. Be diligent in checking for excess ThorroClean in your solvent port, and use a borescope for a thorough inspection.
